Narrative
Ann Eliza Ham was the daughter of Henry R. Ham and Elizabeth Niver of Martindale, New York. She was born October 22, 1820, and baptized December 3 1820, at the Reformed Church of Claverack. The baptismal record lists the parents names as "Henry R. Ham and Elizabeth Niver". It is said that as Eliza was only seventeen years of age when married she remained for one year at home, and then lived with her husband in his father's home. In 1845 they moved to Monroe County, going by train to Albany, then by the Erie Canal to Adams Basin. They afterwards went to Waynesport where she died, July 20, 1854, probably of childbirth complications - her last son had been born July 8, 1854 and died in infancy. Eliza was buried at Waynesport, beside two of their children, who had died in infancy.
